I am thankful that Sara came to do our camp 10 years ago. I can’t imagine Troyettes without Sara…and neither can any of the girls who have been on the team for the past 10 years. We are blessed to be touched by your talent and your amazing heart and passion….I am lucky to have your friendship. You’re my younger and cuter “twin” all the way in Kansas City :) Love you!!!!!!

I am thankful for my home family and my drill team family! WIthout my parents and my sister (and my dogs) I would be a complete mess! And without my drill team family I would not have the one love, the “feeling”, the support for anything that happens in my life, and the friends I will have after high school. I am also thankful for our wonderful coach! Without Mrs. Heptig the Eaglettes would not be the Eaglettes. Thanks for always pushing us Mrs. Heptig! And thank you to everyone on the team! =]

I am so grateful to every one of the girls on drill team. You guys are so awesome and work so hard and I would not be who I am today without each and every one of your influences. I am soo grateful for a wonderful coach. The Eaglettes would not be who we are without you! I am eternally grateful for my family who supports me in everything I do. I’m also grateful for the other officers on the team. I am so glad that we get along…need I say more? And I’m grateful for failures, and bruises, and long practices. Because without the unpleasant things in life (not saying long practices are unpleasant) we can never fully appreciate the real joys and happy things.

Thankful? Thankful doesn’t even begin to cover what I am. I am so thankful for the amazing opportunities that I have been given in my life, opportunities to meet the most incredible people and do things that few people get to experience. Honestly, one of the greatest things I have ever been able to do is be an Eaglette. I didn’t realize it at first, but this team has had one of the biggest impacts on my life. On this team I’ve learned so so many things about myself, the way I want to live life, and the way others should be treated and I’ve learned them in such a short amount of time while other people who haven’t had the same help, spend maybe their whole life figuring out what I’ve learned in just three years. On this team I’ve found my way to put my whole heart into something, and to me that is worth more than a lot of things in life. Humans are capable of so much and I don’t think I would have realized just how much I was capable of if I had never been on this team. I have been treated with indescribable amounts of love and generosity, and being touched by that has given me such a larger capacity for the love and kindness that I show others. Without this team and the people I’ve connected with, I know I would not be as sure about the person I want to be as I am today. I owe everything to this team. I am more than grateful for everything you all have given me. Sometimes it’s not until you see someone giving so much when you realize that you can give more.

I don’t know if you realize this, but the thing that makes our team have so much meaning beyond just dance, is the love and the heart and the care that Miss Evans pours and pours and pours into this team. There are few dance teams out there that are like us, and that’s because there are few people that would do as much for a team as Miss Evans does for us. I hope you all realize that you will come across few people in your life that will be as genuinely selfless for you as she is. She gives and gives and gives and does more things for more people in a day than most people will ever do for anyone in a week. I think a lot of us take it for granted, but without her constantly going out of her way to fill our team with love and make sure our values are in the right place, we would not be half the team that we today call ONE. 96% of the time I don’t think we remember to be as grateful as we could be, but at least right now I hope that everyone could stop and think about just how much we all appreciate her as our coach and that maybe we could remember to think of her a little more often, because she is always thinking of us.

There are so many things that I could say about this team and what it means to me and there are few times when I get to talk about it, but since this opportunity arose I wanted to say it right instead of condensing it into a more reasonable amount of text. Even though I’ve said a lot just now, it only begins to cover all of what I could say about my gratitude towards the Eaglettes and our coach. I hope all of you know how much I mean every word that I’ve said. (:

Of course there are many many other things in my life that I am thankful for, but since I have already written a brief novel about the ones that you other Eaglettes can most closely relate to, I feel that I need not continue on my ramblings.

As it is the season of giving thanks, I hope you all have as many wonderful people and things in your life to be thankful for as I do. (:
    Much love. <3
