Helping the Swim Team

Hey girls. Thank you SO much for those of you volunteering to help at the swim meet on Thursday! We are still on the look out for people. If you can add in to the fun, that would be fabulous!!

Here is the info you need:

Be at Mission Trail after school at 3:30
If you can wear a red North shirt, that would be fabulous. You might be hot and you might get wet. You might want to bring shorts to put on when you get there.
You will be timing the swimmers. There should be 2 girls per lane (if we can get 12).
It is so nice for you to volunteer to do this. You will get community service hours for this! If you need anything signed (for NHS) bring your paperworkd.
Be the awesome representative of Olathe North that I know you will be! :)
You will be done by 6:00.

Thanks again for doing this! You are doing a wonderful thing for the Eaglettes, Swim Team, and Olathe North! You are GREATLY appreciated! Love you tons!

1.23 Update

Hey girlies. Hope you are enjoying your day off! :) Some things for tomorrow…

Tonight, everything in your garment bag should be airing out. YOu should also check for any damages. Remember, nothing should be washed. Talk to me about how to treat things. Do not wait, because the longer it goes without being treated, the less likely it is to come out!
Bring back all trophies in the morning.
To school, wear your red ONE Love t-shirt and jeans. If you will get cold, bring your red hooded sweatshirts. Please wear tennis shoes on the bottom. You can do any tennis shoes, but no boots or anything else.
Remember, we are not dressing out. Be in my classroom when the bell rings. Bring your spring show ideas. :) Lets make the best spring show Olathe North has ever seen!
For the game you will wear the same red t-shirt, black jazz pants, white tennis shoes. You need to have on make up. It does not have to be performance, but it needs to be there. You need to wear some sort of lipstick. You need your silver poms. You cannot wear any jewelry. Hair should be half up with a black rubber band.
Report time is 6:30. Do not be late! Report in my classroom so give yourself enough time to go to the locker room.
Your garment bags are due by the end of the week. My recommendation is that you bring it to the game.
Remember, we are cheering the basketball game and NOT performing. The musical will be the half time entertainment and we will be supporting our fellow Eaglettes performing! :) Both varsity and junior varsity will be together. You will be done once the game has concluded!

Wow…that doesn’t even begin to sum it up! What an INCREDIBLE competition season! Eaglettes, I could not be more proud of you…on AND off the dance floor! We couldn’t have asked for anything more…from anyone!!

Thank you so much to ALL of our parents for the support! From the food, to the props, to the gifts, to the rhinestoning, to the ironing, to carrying bags, to sitting on those hard bleachers, to wearing the red, the list goes on and on. Thank you so much for being the BEST Fan Club we could ever ask for.

Thank you to Conor Hosford for being such a wonderful addition to our pom routine!

Thank you for all of the help throughout the day. Thank you to our manager, Zaida Woods. Thank you to Eaglette Alumni, Janae Mahaffie, for helping both weekends! Thank you to the best assistant and friend I could ever ask for! We have such an incredible support system!

Thank you to the Eaglettes! I am so proud of you. You were an absolute delight in every way possible. Thank you for carrying on the tradition of the Eaglettes…for raising the standard of excellence! I hope you experienced that Eaglette feeling that only a few of us know. I hope you realized why we do things the way we do…you wouldn’t have heard your name 37 times yesterday if we did not!! I hope that you enjoyed every second dancing on the gym floor with people wanting to see YOU dance. I hope you enjoyed spending the day with your teammates, your friends. I hope you realize how incredible it is to be voted the Oustanding Team this weekend, the Most Admired Team last weekend, and being selected for the NDA Team Award at camp! That is something so very special that can only be accomplished by special people…that’s all of you! Later on in your life, when you look back on your times on Eaglettes, you will forget a lot of things. You will not remember all of the practices. You will not remember all of the awards. You will remember the special performances. You will remember the special people. You will remember the special honors. You will remember that you were a part of something special…just like YOU!

Get excited for a well deserved weekend off. Varsity, you need to be in my classroom by 8:00 on Monday, not dressed out. Make sure to plan for school traffic. You are not used to that. If you are late, you will need to go to the tardy table and bring me a pass. JV, you need to be in my classroom, not dressed out, at the start of 2nd hour. We will spend Monday celebrating an incredible competition season. Please bring back the trophies you took home these past 2 weekends.

I am not doing announcements this week. Just to give you a look:

We will not be dancing this week in the morning. Varsity, your report time will be the start of 1st hour and JV report time will be the start of 2nd hour. Do not dress out. Bring your spring show ideas on Tuesday!
We have a basketball game on Tuesday. Mr. Pence asked if they could do a musical number at the game and I said yes. I thought it would be wonderful to support the musical and give you girls a break. It is also a JV and V boys game. So we will have both groups cheer at the varsity boys game. That means everyone will need to be there at 6:30 for the game. We will just be cheering.
There is no after school practice for varsity on Thursday!
THAT IS ALL FOR THE WEEK!! :)

I am working on uploading the videos and pictures. I am also working on the February calendar. Just to give you a reminder, on Saturday, February 4th we have the middle school showcase in the morning and the Special Olympics Workshop in the afternoon (from 1:00-2:30). The workshop was an addition to the calendar.

We will now look forward to basketball games, one more pep assembly, the lib dub video, and putting on the BEST Spring Show the Eaglettes have ever done!!

The Eaglettes are SPECTACULAR at the Kansas Spectacular

The Olathe North Eaglette Dance Team attended the Kansas Spectacular Dance Team Festival at Olathe East on January 20 and 21. The festival had over 50 private, junior high and high school teams participate. The team brought home many awards including the following:

Hello girls! I hope you enjoyed your day off! Very well deserved! I hope you enjoyed yourself on Saturday! What a great day it was to be an Eaglette! From start to finish, it was wonderful! I am so proud of you for so many reasons! Congratulations on a wonderful first competition! :) One down, one to go! A HUGE thank you to all the people who helped us out this weekend! From the fabulous food, beautiful decorations, awesome props, amazing costumes, to the awesome cheering section, we appreciate you all very much!!! What a special day it was!!!! I hope you experienced that Eaglette feeling that only a few people in this world know! I hope you realized why we work so hard! I hope it was all worth it! :) What more could we have asked for?!?! INCREDIBLE!! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MOST ADMIRED TEAM!!!!!!

I do not have announcements to post. I am putting the information you need to know below. Please read it all! See you January calendar for this week’s schedule! We need another good intense week to get us ready for the biggest competition of the year!!!!!

Tuesday:
- Wear to school:
  - Tuesday, January 17: Basketball- New Red Blue w/ Blue Tank and white tennis shoes (JV wear peace / love / on)
- V report to my room at 7:30 – do not dress out
- JV report to my room for 2^nd hour – do not dress out
- For the basketball game:
  - JV – report to my room at 4:45
    - Bring everything for jazz
  - V – report to my room at 6:00
    - Bring everything for cosmic love
- Since we are watching the video / going through judges scores in the morning and have a basketball game in the evening, that means we are losing 1 day of practice that we normally have. It means you have 3 days off. It means we have 2.5 days left to prepare for an even bigger competition. That means we must take advantage of the time we are practicing. Make it count!
Garment Bags
- You will be keeping your garment bags through this next competition.
- You need to take all of your clothes out of your garment bag to air them out. Take the white cardigan (varsity) out of it’s plastic bag. Make sure they are all hanging up.
- If there are any problems, please take care of them. Remember, NOTHING can be washed. It something is wrinkly, please iron / steam it. If something needs to be treated, please visit with me before doing it. Do not let a stain sit, though. It needs to be taken care of ASAP.
- Check to make sure you have ALL of your costumes. If anything has gotten mixed up, let me know ASAP.
Restocking
- Make sure to restock your supplies for next weekend
  - Body tape is super important! Make sure you have enough.
- If you need to get more tights, don’t wait until the last minute.
- Go through everything and repack. Do not think, it was in my bag last weekend so it will be there again! I know that is not the case because I have some of your items!
Due:
- I want everyone to write out (NOT COMMENT) corrections for all of the routines you did this past weekend that you are going to be performing this next weekend. That means all team routines, officer, jr/sr, and whatever duets / solos are competing again. We will be watching routines in class tomorrow so you can start creating your list then. I am working on getting the additional routine videos posted. You should also write down the judges comments that are posted online. Your corrections will be due on Wednesday morning. This is OUR LAST PUSH FOR OUR LAST COMPETITION! We have come so far. You cannot give up now. There are going to be higher expectations for us this weekend so we must make sure we take advantage of every opportunity we have this week!

The Eaglettes excel at 5 Star

The Olathe North Eaglette Dance Team attended the 5 Star Productions Dance Team Competition at Olathe South this past weekend. The competition had over 30 private, middle school and high school teams participate. The team brought home many awards including the following:

Solo Winner: Lauren Aulick Varsity and Aleia Neal Junior Varsity
Duet Award of Excellence for Kristina Aulick / Lauren Aulick and Haley Beadle / Katie Wiseman
Large Ensemble Award of Excellence for Junior / Senior
Judges Award for Technique for Junior Varsity Pom
Judges Award for Choreography for Varsity Pom and Jazz
Judges Award for Showmanship for Varsity Hip Hop and Junior Varsity Hip Hop
Judges Award for Precision for the Varsity Lyrical
Officer Award of Excellence
Sweepstakes Trophy Winner for Varsity and Junior Varsity
Five-Star Shining Star Award for Varsity and Junior Varsity for achieving a 90 or above from all judges on at least 3 team routines (highest rating attainable).
Best of the Best for being one of the highest scoring teams of the day
The Varsity Eaglettes were also selected for perform in the 5 Star Showcase. The judges chose 10 of their favorite routines to perform again at the end of the day and the Eaglettes were asked to perform their jazz routine.
The biggest honor was being selected as the Most Admired Team, which was voted on by all of the other teams.

FABULOUS job today Varsity! I’m so proud of you! We are coming to the end of our week! 1 day until solos / duets and 2 days until team / ensembles! Keep pushing and keep believing! We’re almost there!!!

Junior Varsity

Tomorrow morning, be in the aux gym BEFORE 8:15, ready to go. Ramsey is not coming, but I still want you ready to go when the bell rings at 8:15. Someone please bring down the cart.
Make sure to have EVERYTHING. We will be working on ALL routines.
We will also have practice after school. It is from 3:30-5:30. Again, have all of your stuff.
Make sure you have watched ALL of your performance videos from the basketball games and be ready to fix all of the little details.
Start packing tonight and let me know tomorrow what you are missing!
Bring in any missing grade cards!
If anyone wants to work during ART, you can get a pass from me. You need to be working on a routine!
